The Challenge
When we began working on Planinka.bg, the existing platform already had a wealth of content but suffered from extremely slow performance. This not only negatively impacted the user experience but also drove up hosting costs significantly.
Our initial task was to improve the site’s speed, but it quickly became apparent that building a new platform from scratch would provide a better user experience and lower operational costs in the long run.

Key Enhancements:
- Side Cart – We implemented a side cart that appears on the right side of the screen when a product is added. This allows users to track the items in it without interrupting their browsing experience.
- Blog Filters – To make the platform more user-friendly, we added filters for route type, location, mountain, and difficulty level. These options enable quick and intuitive searches, which is crucial for Planinka.bg’s audience.
- Interactive Map with Pins – Each blog post is linked to a pin showing the exact coordinates of the location it describes. Additionally, we developed a map that integrates all article locations, allowing users to filter and easily find destinations.
- E-commerce Integration – The site features an online store with an integrated shipping solution via Econt, streamlining order and delivery logistics.
The Results
The revamped Planinka.bg saw substantial improvements in both performance and user satisfaction. Enhanced site speed reduced hosting costs and boosted overall platform efficiency.
