Pastry Shop “Stenata” opened its doors in 1991 in Plovdiv and quickly became a favorite spot for anyone who loves homemade sweets, cakes, and other desserts. Located in a central area with a view of the “Bunardzhik” hill, it has a special charm that enhances the atmosphere. Focused on quality and tradition, “Stenata” has always aimed to create a warm and cozy feeling for its customers. Despite its established reputation and steady flow of clients, the owners realized that they needed to take a step towards modernization, particularly digitalization. Alongside a variety of sweets, the pastry shop also has an ice cream parlor where visitors can enjoy various sundaes and unique ice cream desserts, completing the sweet experience.

Objective

The goal of the project was simple yet ambitious: to make the pastry shop more accessible to modern customers through a new and functional website. We needed to not only create a new design but also optimize how customers interact with the pastry shop online. The idea was to preserve the cozy atmosphere and personal touch that “Stenata” offers on-site and transfer it to the online space.

Challenges

To make the website user-friendly and visually appealing, we divided it into two main sections with a clear distinction: blue for the ice cream parlor and pink for the pastry shop. This helped customers quickly and easily navigate the offered products. The biggest challenge was creating a cake configurator that allows for personalization, including options for selecting flavors and decorations.

Solutions

We developed an interactive configurator that enables customers to personalize their cakes according to their preferences.

First, the user selects the number of cake slices and then chooses the flavor, with each combination having a different price based on the size. There are also options to add candles, fountains, and numerical decorations, where users can specify how many and which numbers they want. Additionally, a free custom message can be added to each cake. After adding the items to the cart, the customer can see the final order with all the selected details and the total price. The system displays changes in real-time, making the process easy and enjoyable. We also integrated a free live chat that provides direct communication with customers and quick resolution of their queries, with all features entirely in Bulgarian.

Results

Just eight months after the launch of the new site, Pastry Shop “Stenata” recorded incredible success – an over 400% increase in revenue. More and more people are using the site not only for orders but also for direct communication, fully adapted to their needs. The ability to personalize orders and the convenience of using the configurator have generated extremely positive feedback. The pastry shop remains a favorite spot in Plovdiv, but now, thanks to its revamped website, “Stenata” is reaching new audiences while maintaining the same level of quality and care that has always been its hallmark.
